Necessities for Gold Foil and Spot UV

File Formats for Spot Gloss and Gold Foil

The following covers what you need before setting your file up for Gold or Spot UV printing


Design Layer

  • PDF
  • CMYK Color Space
  • 300DPI

Element Layer (Foil or Spot Gloss)

  • PDF
  • Vector Artwork strongly preferred
  • If raster, save as 360 DPI. Low res files will cause rough edges and delays in production.
  • Black and White
  • CMYK value of 0/0/0/100. You may have a lower percentage of K but it will produce a lower level of spot gloss.
