Softcover Phase 1 - Send the preliminary file.

Softcover Phase 1 - Send the preliminary file.

Step 1 - Page flow in Adobe InDesign

You're looking at the "Pages" pallet in Adobe InDesign with our notes in red and blue. The areas shaded in red consist of the cover elements. The areas shaded in blue indicate the interior pages of your book.

The example below is a 12 page document. Pages 1,2,11, and 12 represent the cover elements. Pages 3-10 represent the interior pages.

Step 2 - Export your file.

Use our recommended export settings to export correctly.

At this stage it does NOT have to be the absolute final content, but you want to have a pretty good idea of what the final page count it. Feel free to add blank pages to get it to your final desired page count.

Step 3 - Nonstop Printing will provide a Cover Template

With your single file, we will run a custom report and if you settle on a paper type, we can send a cover template so that you can design your cover perfectly with the correct spine thickness.
